Freeman Health System Recognized as American College of Radiology Comprehensive Breast Imaging Center
August 11, 2026
Highest Level of Achievement in Breast Imaging Services
Freeman Health System’s Wes & Jan Houser Women’s Pavilion has been designated a Comprehensive Breast Imaging Center (CBIC) by the American College of Radiology (ACR), a distinction that represents the highest level of achievement in breast imaging services.
To earn this recognition, facilities must achieve ACR accreditation across multiple breast imaging modalities, meeting rigorous standards for quality, safety, physician oversight and patient care in the following areas:
- Mammography: Certified high-quality breast X-ray imaging
- Stereotactic Breast Biopsy: Accurate, minimally invasive tissue sampling
- Breast Ultrasound: Advanced sound-wave imaging and guided biopsies
- Breast MRI: Detailed magnetic resonance imaging of breast tissue
“This designation demonstrates Freeman Health System’s commitment to maintaining the highest standards in breast imaging,” said Hector Juarez, Vice President of Imaging at Freeman Health System. “It reflects the exceptional work our team strives for every day on behalf of our patients.”
For Freeman patients, this “gold standard” designation means the health system meets strict national rules for equipment safety and staff skill; that technologists and doctors possess the proper training, experience and certifications; and that all major diagnostic tools are available to catch and evaluate health issues at the earliest opportunity.
“As a breast radiologist, there’s nothing more rewarding than knowing our patients can receive every aspect of their breast imaging care in one place, backed by the highest national standards,” said Freeman Radiologist Dr. Jane Seto. “The ACR Comprehensive Breast Imaging Center designation recognizes not only our technology and expertise, but also the teamwork and dedication that go into providing accurate diagnoses and compassionate care every day.”
Earlier this year, Freeman Health System earned full mammography accreditation from the ACR.
“We should all be proud of what this accomplishment represents for our patients, our community and our organization,” Juarez said. “It reinforces our ongoing efforts to ensure patients throughout the region have access to nationally recognized breast imaging services close to home.”
