Freeman Welcomes Reconstructive and Cosmetic Plastic Surgeon

Board-certified Surgeon Brings More Than Two Decades of Experience to Freeman

Freeman Health System is pleased to welcome Dr. Steven Hughes, a board-certified, seasoned cosmetic and reconstructive plastic surgeon, to its medical staff and surgical team full time. He recently relocated to the Joplin area, but has been serving patients requiring breast reconstruction locally for more than a decade.

Dr. Hughes offers a full range of services, including breast reconstruction, breast reduction and lifts and augmentation surgery. He provides a full spectrum of body contouring surgeries and facial rejuvenation, arm and thigh lift, as well as less invasive treatments such as Botox® and soft tissue fillers.

“Having worked in the Joplin/Springfield area for many years, I’m happy to continue providing care in this beautiful community,” said Dr. Hughes. “My philosophy is treating every patient as someone extremely special, and I bring my patients the quality, personalized care they expect and deserve with great outcomes.” 

After earning his medical degree at University of Missouri – Columbia School of Medicine in Columbia, Mo., Dr. Hughes completed his residencies in general surgery and plastic surgery at the same location. He is board-certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery.
