The report, which for 23 years has saluted the nation’s premiere hospitals, ranked Freeman Health System #4 in the state of Missouri. In addition, Freeman was recognized among the U.S. News & World Report Best Hospitals in Southwest Missouri and received special designation in five high-performing specialties, including Gastroenterology, Nephrology, Neurology and Neurosurgery, Orthopaedics, and Pulmonology.

    Ozark Center fully healed after May 22 tornado

    JOPLIN, Mo.—After losing half its Joplin facilities in the May 22, 2011, tornado, Ozark Center, the behavioral health division of Freeman Health System, is fully restored. On January 30, Ozark Center reopened New Directions residential substance abuse treatment and medical detoxification facility, marking the end of its long road to recovery.

    WASHINGTON D.C.—Freeman Health System has been ranked high performing in five specialties by the U.S. News & World Reports 2011-12 Best Hospitals assessment.



    The latest rankings showcase 720 hospitals out of 5,000 hospitals nationwide. Each is ranked among the country’s top hospitals in at least one medical specialty and/or ranked among the best hospitals in its metro area. Freeman was recognized for five of its specialties, including geriatrics, nephrology, neurology and neurosurgery, orthopaedics, and pulmonology.

    Ozark Center Announces New Chief Administrative Officer

She previously served as Ozark Center Vice President of Clinical Services. In her new role, Mieseler assumes responsibility for the overall leadership and administration of Ozark Center.

    Ozark Center, an entity of Freeman Health System, has once again earned a three-year accreditation from Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF). CARF International is an independent, nonprofit accrediting body. Its mission is to promote the quality, value and optimal outcomes of services through a consultative accreditation process centered around enhancing the lives of the people served. Founded in 1966, CARF establishes consumer-focus standards to help organizations measure and improve the quality of their programs and standards.
