Ozark Center, an entity of Freeman Health System, has once again earned a three-year accreditation from Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF). CARF International is an independent, nonprofit accrediting body. Its mission is to promote the quality, value and optimal outcomes of services through a consultative accreditation process centered around enhancing the lives of the people served. Founded in 1966, CARF establishes consumer-focus standards to help organizations measure and improve the quality of their programs and standards.
Freeman Health System, the first and only hospital in an 80-mile radius designated as a Level II Stroke Center by the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services, recently received the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association’s Get with the Guidelines® – Stroke Silver Plus Quality Achievement Award. The award recognizes Freeman’s commitment and success in implementing excellent care for stroke patients, according to evidence-based guidelines.
The Missouri Department of Mental Health has identified Ozark Center, an entity of Freeman Health System, as one of three community behavioral health centers in southwest Missouri to collaborate on and implement a Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration System of Care expansion grant.
Freeman Health System was honored with an “A” grade in The Leapfrog Group Fall 2016 Hospital Safety Score. Freeman is one of 17 hospitals in Missouri to receive the grade. The score rates how well hospitals protect patients from errors, accidents, injuries and infections.

JOPLIN, Mo. – A major medical quality rating organization awarded a multitude of service lines across Freeman Health System with top rankings at the national, state, regional and local levels based upon medical excellence and patient safety. CareChex® – a division of Comparion® Medical Analytics – ranked Freeman’s cardiac care among the top 10 percent in the nation for medical excellence. In addition, Freeman’s cardiac care ranked 223 out of thousands of hospital cardiac care facilities across the country.
