Freeman Health System was honored with an “A” grade in The Leapfrog Group Fall 2016 Hospital Safety Score. Freeman is one of 17 hospitals in Missouri to receive the grade. The score rates how well hospitals protect patients from errors, accidents, injuries and infections.

JOPLIN, Mo – Freeman Health System is one of four hospitals in the nation to be acknowledged for its ongoing efforts to improve the health and well-being of everyone in its communities. The award if the Foster G. McGaw Prize, which uniquely shows the relationship between a hospital and its community, was founded by the Baxter Allegiance Foundation and the American Hospital Association in 1986.

The report, which for 23 years has saluted the nation’s premiere hospitals, ranked Freeman Health System #4 in the state of Missouri. In addition, Freeman was recognized among the U.S. News & World Report Best Hospitals in Southwest Missouri and received special designation in five high-performing specialties, including Gastroenterology, Nephrology, Neurology and Neurosurgery, Orthopaedics, and Pulmonology.
