Ozark Center, an entity of Freeman Health System, offers a new treatment for depression. Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) therapy is a non-drug, non-invasive treatment for patients with major depression who have not seen success with at least one antidepressant medication.

Ozark Center is the first and only in the region to utilize NeuroStar TMS Therapy®, which is approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for individuals 21 years of age or older.

Ozark Center, an entity of Freeman Health System, opened Reconnect Eating Disorders Clinic. It is the first and only outpatient program in the area specializing in the treatment of anorexia, bulimia, binge-eating, avoidant/restrictive food intake disorder, and the co-occurring conditions such as anxiety, mood disorders, substance use, self-harm and body dysmorphic disorder.  

Ozark Center, an entity of Freeman Health System, was named the 2018 Individual Placement and Support (IPS) Outstanding Performer by the Missouri Department of Mental Health – Division of Behavioral Health. The award recognizes Ozark Center’s commitment to obtaining and maintaining education and employment for clients.

Ozark Center, an entity of Freeman Health System, celebrated the opening of Hope Spring with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The facility located at 3901 E. 32nd St. in Joplin is home to adult outpatient mental health services. A same-day, walk-in clinic is also located in the new facility and is available 8:00 am – 3:00 pm Monday – Friday.

Vicky Mieseler, MS, BCCP, NCP, was recently named chief administrative officer for Ozark Center, the behavioral health division of Freeman Health System. She previously served as Ozark Center Vice President of Clinical Services. In her new role, Mieseler assumes responsibility for the overall leadership and administration of Ozark Center.

Ozark Center, an entity of Freeman Health System, celebrated 10 years of providing safe, affordable housing at Magnolia Heights. Opened in 2007, the 23-unit complex provides a bridge to independent living for individuals with chronic mental illness.
