Freeman Auxiliary Presents Check to Turnaround Ranch

Freeman Auxiliary will present a check to Turnaround Ranch for $14,200. That total includes $11,200 for a complete overhaul of the Turnaround Ranch Recreation Room, including a new ceiling, new flooring, insulation, seating areas and new activities. Additionally, Freeman Auxiliary is donating $2,000 to pay for treats, such as off-campus meals, and another $1,000 to fund a New Year’s Eve party for the facility’s resident youths.

During the 2016-2017 fiscal year, Freeman Auxiliary donated more than $200,000 to various programs, including Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals®, Bill & Virginia Leffen Center for Autism, Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Four States, Freeman Cornell-Beshore Cancer Institute and the Chaplains Fund. Freeman Auxiliary also purchased wheelchairs and other needed hospital equipment.

Turnaround Ranch is a 72-bed residential treatment facility for adolescents ages 10 to 18. It provides 24-hour care for youths experiencing emotional and behavioral problems. Located west of Joplin, Mo., Turnaround Ranch’s 20-acre main campus includes six cottages, a school, a gymnasium and an outdoor recreational area.
