Dr. Nashed earned her medical degree at St. George’s University School of Medicine in Grenada, West Indies. She then completed a residency in general surgery at Saint Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, N.J., and a fellowship in cardiothoracic surgery at Tufts Medical Center in Boston, Mass. Dr. Nashed was the first woman to graduate from the cardiothoracic surgery fellowship program at Tufts Medical Center.
