Freeman provides free physicals to local area athletes

JOPLIN, Mo. – Each spring and summer, Freeman Rehabilitation and Sports Center provides free annual preparticipation physical exams to an estimated 2,000 middle school, high school and college athletes from nearly 20 local schools. Freeman will offer its final round of free physicals on Monday, July 28. 

For 23 years, Freeman has proudly provided this service to the community. More than 75 Freeman doctors, nurses, therapists and clinicians volunteer their time and talent to assist with this service.

Parental consent is required for participation. Consent forms may be found at Missouri State High School Activities Association website or with a school’s athletic director. Each student athlete must have a signed consent form before a preparticipation physical examination can be conducted. These sports physicals are available to students age seventh grade and older. Students ages kindergarten through sixth grade should contact their pediatrician or family doctor. For more information, please contact Freeman Rehabilitation and Sports Center at 417.347.3737.

Monday, July 28
6:00 pm Baxter Springs middle and high school students 
6:45 pm Riverton middle and high school students 
7:30 pm College Heights and Crowder College students 
8:00 pm Seneca middle and high school students and Thomas Jefferson Independent Day School students 
8:15 pm Columbus middle and high school students and Ozark Christian College students
