National Depression Screening Day
October 07, 2021
Ozark Center Offers Free Screenings at Every Ozark Location
Joplin, MO – October 7 is National Depression Screening Day. Ozark Center, an entity of Freeman Health System, offers free depression screenings at all its locations 24/7. More than one in four adults have faced depression through the pandemic, according to the Journal of the American Medical Association.
Just like health screenings help detect heart disease or high blood pressure, a depression screening can help provide a quick and easy way to spot the first signs of serious illness. A screening can help people to receive an informed diagnosis. It also drags depression out of the darkness and can bring help to those who need it.
Roughly 40 million adults in the U.S. struggle with depression or anxiety. Their family, friends and co-workers are also impacted. Major depression is one of the most common mental health illnesses, affecting 6.7% (more than 16 million) of American adults each year.
Depression can be treated – the first step is realizing someone needs help. Contact Ozark Center for a free depression screening at 417.347.7720 or go to ozarkcenter.com.
