Stages of Dementia Discussion at Freeman Caregiver Support Group

Learn About the Joplin Area Walk to End Alzheimer’s
Joplin, Mo – The Freeman Health System Caregiver Support Group will host a guest speaker from College View Manor and the Joplin Area Walk to End Alzheimer’s on Thursday, August 19.
Participants will learn about the different stages of dementia and how to navigate essential care needs for a loved one. Carey Prater, Chair of the Joplin Area Walk to End Alzheimer’s, is a social worker who will discuss how the walk benefits the community and the different levels of care for dementia patients at College View Manor. Prater will also take questions from caregivers.
Facilitated by Freeman Geriatric Center social worker Jennifer Berry, MSW, LCSW, the support group meets from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm at Freeman East conference rooms. Physical distancing and mask wearing will be practiced.
