Freeman Announces New Pulmonologist

Freeman welcomes board-certified pulmonologist.
Joplin, Mo. – Freeman Health System announces the addition of Dr. Yashwanth Yerramalla to Freeman Lung Institute. As a pulmonologist, Dr. Yerramalla specializes in diseases of the lung, including chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), emphysema, asthma and pulmonary hypertension.
After receiving his medical degree from Sri Venkata Sai Medical College in Yenugonda, Telangana, India, Dr. Yerramalla completed his residency in internal medicine at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai Queens Hospital in Jamaica, N.Y. He then completed a fellowship in pulmonary disease at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science Chicago Medical School in North Chicago, Ill., and a fellowship in critical care at Albert Einstein College of Medicine-Montefiore Medical Center in Bronx, N.Y. Dr. Yerramalla is board-certified in internal medicine and pulmonary disease with the American Board of Internal Medicine.
“I act as an advocate for the patients. I do all I can to help them recover from or improve their symptoms and illness,” said Dr. Yerramalla. “I help patients take charge of their health by involving them in the decision-making process.”
